About Us
A free daily phrase puzzle, online since 2022 and rebuilt in 2026 with a game of our own.
About Phrazle
Phrazle is a puzzle game where you have to guess a phrase made up of several words. Each time you guess, you'll get color-coded clues about the placement of letters in individual words and in the entire phrase. You have only six attempts to correctly guess the phrase. Playing Phrazle is the best way to improve your analytical skills and have fun!
Online since 2022
Phrazle.org has offered a free phrase puzzle since 2022. It is run by a small independent team that also makes other free word and puzzle games, which you can find at the bottom of this page. The idea has stayed simple from the start: one well-known phrase, six guesses and a few colored tiles.
Rebuilt in 2026 with our own game
Until October 2026 the site ran a game made by another developer. It worked, but we could not change it: it opened a long help window on every first visit, and some of its phrases were not suitable for all players. So we wrote a new Phrazle ourselves and rebuilt the whole site around it.
More to play
Two Daily puzzles a day as before, plus Unlimited play, ten themed categories and an archive of every past Daily puzzle.
Learn the phrase
Every puzzle now ends with the meaning of the phrase, and a hint can show the meaning while you play.
Made for phones
The whole game fits on one phone screen, and the board, the keyboard and the text are easy to read.
Your statistics kept
If you played the earlier version in the same browser, the new game adds your old Daily statistics to your English Daily statistics, and your old practice games to Unlimited, automatically.
Sixteen languages, native phrases
Phrazle is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Indonesian, Swedish, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian and Ukrainian. We did not translate the English idioms: every language has its own list of sayings that native speakers grew up with, its own word list and its own keyboard, so a French or a Polish puzzle feels as natural as an English one.
How the site stays free
Phrazle.org is free and has no paid version. You never need an account, and there is nothing to buy. The servers and our time are paid for by the ads shown on the pages. Ads appear around the game and between the sections of the text, never on the board, never between the board and the keyboard, and never on top of the game while you play.
The game does not ask for your name or your email address. Your games, statistics and settings stay in your own browser. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, and our ad partner Ezoic shows the ads. Our privacy policy explains what these services collect and what choices you have.
